
Rafaela Timóteo, MSc
Rafaela Timóteo, MSc, is a PhD student at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, and has been conducting research at the Champalimaud Foundation since 2022.
Her work with extended reality interfaces for intraoperative use in breast cancer surgery began during her master’s thesis and has since evolved into the focus of her doctoral research. Specializing in Human-Computer Interaction and Augmented Reality, Rafaela leads the co-design of surgical user interfaces, and performs clinical studies to assess and validate the effectiveness and usability of the technologies developed.
