BCRP José Miranda, BSc
José Miranda is a Master's student in Biomedical Engineering at NOVA University Lisbon. His journey at the Champalimaud Foundation began in 2025 with a Research Internship at the Neuropsychiatry Unit, focused on developing ECG, EDA, and eye-tracking processing and analysis pipelines.
Now José has rejoined the CF in the Digital Surgery Lab to conduct his Master's thesis, focused on extending Invariant Feature Learning with variance-preservation terms to improve the robustness of deep learning models against variability in medical imaging acquisition.
Outside the lab, he is an athlete on the national karate team, bringing the same discipline and focus to his research as to competitive sport.
