Carla Malveiro, MSc
Carla Malveiro is an exercise physiologist and coordinator of the Oncology Exercise Program at the Champalimaud Foundation, where she has served since 2022. She also directs the Smile Onco Living Program at Saúde Estrutural Clinic, a private practice in Lisbon, Portugal. In addition, Carla is a lecturer in the Master’s program in Exercise and Health at the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon, where she teaches the Physical Exercise and Oncology module. She completed the VI Postgraduate Course in Cardio-Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, in 2023, and has been pursuing her Ph.D. at the Faculty of Human Kinetics since 2019.
Carla’s research focuses on the effects of exercise on sleep quality, physical fitness, and health-related quality of life in breast cancer patients. She is a key team member of the NEO clinical trial at the Champalimaud Foundation, which explores the impact of supervised exercise on sleep patterns and clinical outcomes during breast cancer treatment. Her published work continues to advance the role of exercise in cancer care, helping to integrate physical activity into wellness practices for oncology patients at the Champalimaud Foundation and beyond.
