José Oliveira, MD., Ph.D., is a Psychiatrist and Researcher in the Neuropsychiatry Unit at the Champalimaud Foundation and Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at NOVA Medical School | Faculty of Medical Sciences, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He graduated in Medicine in 2008 from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and received his PhD in Immunopsychiatry in 2015 from the Université Paris-Est, Paris, France.

His clinical practice focuses on Liaison Psychiatry in Oncology and General Adult Psychiatry, predominantly obsessive-compulsive disorder and treatment-resistant depression. He is currently interested in investigating immunological mechanisms in obsessive-compulsive disorder and in the development of depression in cancer patients.
