Eduard Alexender Bonci, MD, PhD, is a board-certified General Surgeon specialising in Breast Surgical Oncology. Trained at Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca, Romania - where he later lectured in Surgical and Gynaecologic Oncology - he now serves as a Breast Surgical Oncology & Clinical Research Fellow at the Champalimaud Clinical Centre in Lisbon, exploring how artificial intelligence and other digital tools can sharpen surgical decisions and improve patient outcomes.

Passionate about knowledge-sharing, he focuses on surgical research, oncology education, and mentorship in low-resource settings. He is an active member of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), European Breast Cancer Research Association of Surgical Trialists (EUBREAST), and the European School of Oncology (ESO), collaborating through these networks to raise global standards in surgical oncology.
