Helena Cruz, MSc
Helena Cruz, Msc, PhD St is a Biomedical Engineer who has been working as a clinical research project manager at the Breast Unit at the Champalimaud Foundation in Lisbon, Portugal since 2022. She currently coordinates CINDERELLA, an EU-funded international project exploring how artificial intelligence can improve aesthetic outcomes for breast cancer patients. She holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering and a postgraduate qualification in Pharmaceutical Management.
Having initially specialised in biomaterials research, she transitioned to oncology research in 2017. Since then, she has coordinated a variety of breast cancer clinical studies and trials at the Champalimaud Foundation’s Clinical Trials Unit. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Information Science and Technology related to digital health and cancer at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon. She is also a recently certified breast cancer advocate through Europa Donna (The European Breast Cancer Coalition).
